Life, Death and Beauty exhibition featuring works by Andy Warhol, an iconic artist of the 20th century, was opened at the Heydar Aliyev Center on June 21, 2013. More than a hundred works and short films by the famous pop-art artist were introduced at Heydar Aliyev Center.

Life, Death and Beauty exhibition includes Andy Warhol’s portraits, self-portraits, as well as a number of world renowned works like Flower, Camouflage, The Last Supper, Male Hands Praying, Electric Chair, just to mention a few.

Andy Warhol was born in 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and became an American idol due to his eclectic art in the 1960-1970’s. As well as being recognised as an artist, he ventured out into multiple trades ranging from ad illustrator, cinema production, video art, advertising management, TV production, movies, novel writing, philosophy, drama, magazine editing and management, graphic design, photography, music production, pop group management, etc. Andy Warhol passed away on February 22, 1987.
