Des Kaisers Elfenbein

Vienna 2007

Client: Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna

100 exquisite ivory works from the Habsburgs’ art chambers were on display for the first time in an exhibition in 2007. In addition to its scope, the quality and artistic rank of the individual objects make the ivory collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum one of the world’s best collections of its kind. In the Baroque period, the statuettes and pieces of art made from the tusk of elephants were purposeless showpieces of the highest artistic, technical and material standards. The delicate exhibits, such as the ivory works, require special care during transportation and installation. Thanks to our long-standing sales partnership with ARTEX Art Services, a leading manufacturer of high-quality showcases for museums and exhibition houses, we can offer our customers the best solutions in showcase construction and object mounting.
