Vienna 2007

Client: Museum of Ethnology Vienna

Benin is the name of a kingdom in the southwest of today’s Nigeria that was independent until 1897. The first preparations for the exhibition “Benin – Kings and Rituals”, which opened in 2007, began as early as 2002. It covered the period from the 14th to the 19th century and its reinvention in the 20th century until today. Many masterpieces from Benin, which were scattered around the world at the end of the 19th century, were for the first time brought together in a representative show and interpreted according to the latest research. ur founder, Horst Campman, back then the founder and CEO of ARTEX, took care of the object showcases, art handling and object assembly for this exhibition project. Through our longtime sales partnership with ARTEX Art Services, a leading manufacturer of high-quality showcases and other furnishing elements, we are able to offer our customers the best solutions in the areas of showcase construction and object assembly.
