Gobustan is a region located near the capital of Azerbaijan and famous for its mud volcanoes. Azerbaijan has the largest number of mud volcanoes in the world, around 300. Nowadays Gobustan is a geological reserve that yearly attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. The establishment of a mud volcano museum aims at expanding the cultural tourism offer in the region. We conducted a potential analysis for this project.
